Underrated

If I had to describe this game in one word, I could not find a better one then underrated. After knowing and playing it for a while, I still do not understand how it haven't gotten way more popular over the past few years.

Gameplay

The game is what I'd call a dynamic FPS. The environment is dynamic (you can break/explode everything). The character you play is dynamic (You can choose your class, weapon, abilities, gadgets and how you look). And the game itself feels dynamic (all the matches feel really different with different times, whether, moving platforms and even fogginess).

Not overwhelming

With all the "dynamic" stuff I mentioned earlier it may sound like the game would be really overwhelming at first. But honestly it does not feel like that to me. The game has systems in place to ease players in (like the fact that a new players has to buy almost all the weapons, gadgets and playstyles with a currency that is otherwise useless). Everything feels really intuitive to me, like I see something and I already know how it works or what to do with it. And the more complicated things like all the gadgets all have nice easy to access video showcase in the menu.

Replayable

As I mentioned earlier, the game is insanely dynamic. Which results to every match feeling unique to me in some way. Thanks to this the game is much more replayable to me and I feel like I actually want to play Finals, instead of being drawn to it because I am bored.

Party gamemodes

There's bunch of these fun gamemodes some seasonal some not that people actually play and are really fun. The seasonal ones especially are always really fun for me and feel like some thought and work went into them.

Micro transactions

The Finals is a free game, so it is mostly funded with payed cosmetics. Many games have this system and I personally left a lot of many into some of these (Mainly Valorant around 400EUR). I have to say I love how Finals do this. I have only spent 20EUR total on the Finals. For those I got an entire skin bundle which I can take parts of and combine them with any other skin (Like use a pirate hat with a wedding dress) + I got 20EUR worth of Multibucks (As in I'd get the exact same amount of them if I just bought them). Those I spent on some random singular cosmetics for gadgets that I really liked. I am still left with 1725mb that I am planning to mostly spend on the battlepass premium once I advance in it a bit.

What I'm trying to say here is that Embark doesn't make me feel like the skins are anything more then few lines of code. Valorant for example has such expensive skins that you need to upgrade to have all the functionality...

Linux support!

This obviously means a lot to me so I want to point it out. The game has really great support for linux. In my time on Linux I've only had a problem for like a month when an update greatly decreased performance, which has since been fixed.

Steamdeck

I have even met some people that claimed they were playing entirely from a Steamdeck. I haven't tried that myself yet as I prefer a mouse for an FPS.

Lore

This definitely isn't my number one concern in a FPS. But it would be a shame to not mention it as it definitely makes the game more fun for me. The easiest way to explain the lore is to watch the Ready player one movie (It's a banger of a movie please watch it), the games lore is very much inspired and similar to this movie, even some of the effects look the same (coins falling everywhere after a kill).

The whole lore is fairly hidden and not shoved into our faces. You either have to search for the clues and read all the menu text to find out what's going on or watch a video from someone who has done that (I did the second one :D).

Updates

Here take it with a grain of salt, since I am not that active and might have missed things, but please correct me in the comments if I'm wrong.

I've seen that when Arc raiders released The Finals got a bit forgotten for a bit. But if we ignore that part, to me the updates feel amazing! They add bigger more exciting things, but also little tiny qol additions that I didn't even think I need. It feels like the devs actually play the game and I like that.

The bad

I've mostly just glazed the game so let's talk about what I do not like.

Voice chat

I love voice chat and quite honestly I kept coming back to play Valorant mostly because of the people not the game. The voicechat itself in Finals is fairly fine.

Turned on by default

I do not know what they we're thinking with this one. The voicechat in the Finals (at least in the pc version) is not only turned on by default, but also set to voice activation instead of push-to-talk. It just results in new players having it on for few games without knowing and then getting scared when they discover what happened and turning it off.

Lack of speaking players

I can only speak for the region that I play in which is EU. But I very rarely meet players that actually speak. I know this isn't something the devs can do something about but it does make me want to play less. I also think it may be partially because they get "traumatized" by the enabled-by-default experience I mentioned earlier.

Performance

While overall the performance is great. It just doesn't run on potatoes. This is not a complaint and I don't mind it too much. But it would be great if the game had some super lightweight mode that would work even on the most potatoie of potatoes.

Scopes

I like the scopes and the fact you can change them on all the weapons. What I do not like is that I can't change them in game. I know this seems unnecessary, but hear me out. I would love if I could swap the scope when I die in gamemodes where I can swap weapons. Sometimes I need to play for a bit in a real game with all the scopes to find which one fits me best. Like this I have to play one whole game for each scope.

It also doesn't help that there's no preview of how the scope actually looks in game when choosing it so I have to completely rely on it's vibe and what devs wrote about it.

So what do you think? Will you give the game a shot? Or are you already making a Mastodon account just to tell me how wrong I am? (Please do, I'd love to know ur opinion}

Before this blog

I started out with blogging shortly after I began using Obsidian. I found this cool plugin called Digital Garden that allows users to basically have the payed publish feature of obsidian for free. (using github and vercel for hosting) It was pretty neat, and I thought to myself "wow I love this minimalistic setup, it is easy to use and looks quite pretty. I'll always be happy with it!"

The problems of my previous setup

Welp. I was in fact not happy with it at all after a while. I wanted to have new features or just customize it more and that was either impossible or very hard, since it was setup by someone else. Specifically I didn't enjoy not having comments and the site not feeling like me.

New blog

And so I set out to make a new blog. I abused Gemini to come up with the perfect stack for it, which took some time in the span of multiple days, and then I started making the actual thing ..also heavily supported by Gemini :D

The new stack consists of:

Zola for the static site generator

Codeberg for the pages hosting and source hosting

Pagefind for the fast search engine

Nix for the Nix flake to be able to easily publish and maintain the blog from anywhere (you can try it yourself by cloning the repo and
$nix develop
)

Mastodon for the comments hosting. Since I use Codeberg for hosting I can't really have a database for the comments. So I just use Mastodon.

NeoVim for the markdown editor

Why AI?!

Well I have two very simple answers to that, but before that let me just say that I am definitely not a fan of everything being AI and everything being made using AI.

I have free access to a decent one. I work in a school and we use free Google workspace because we are a nonprofit education focused organization. That gives me access to the gemini Pro 3.1 model, which is available for free but in a veryy limited maner. I can use and abuse it almost constantly without using up the limits. (I rarely do use them up)

I just don't have as much time on my hands as i used to have... I have a job I enjoy and care about, I am still studying technically, recently and most importantly I got a Girlfriend. As cheesy as that is she is the best thing that could have happened to me and not only I would'nt want to loose her over spending too much time doing nerd pc stuff, but I actually prefer spending time with her instead of this when we can. AI allows me to do all the things I always wanted like make a cool personilized blog, while not taking up too much of my time. With that said, if someone wants to make a living or a business they should consdier putting in the real work. My blog is not critical and I am fully aware it could explode at any time.

Can I steal this?

Yes! If anyone would I would be honored LoL. I would appreciate if you let me know, but it is not a requirement. As I said earlier just go look at the source and if it fits you just clone the repo and run
$nix develop
.

What's next?

Well I am hoping that I'll keep posting here somewhat regularly in the future. There's also quite a few posts that I will port from my old blog.

Updates

I will also try updating the web. I already have some things on mind that I'd like adding:

Table of contents on the side

Support for Emoji shortcodes

not really that related just a little bit: finishing and sharing my nix configs including the NeoVim config for writing these posts. (I am writing this in the vanilla NeoVim haha)

and much more...

WIP: This post was transfered from my old blog/obsidian vault. It is completely readable but it might have some issues. (broken links that look like this: [[something]] for example)

Well this has been an eventful year wasn't it? :D

What have I been doing?

The whole year I've been working at a school as a "teacher". I've lost an almost two year old relationship. And as always I've improved as a person in many ways.

The school

It has been moving in some ways that I am very happy about but also in ways that worry me. I feel like I've improved a lot as a teacher which makes me happy. My biggest issue still is my iresponsibility, I've improved a lot but still not good enough haha.

Lost relationship

As sad as that may sound I am very happy about it, of course that is not how I felt when it happened few months back but looking back at all of it, it is better for everyone involved and I only regret not ending it sooner (for the record I was not the one to end it, but I should have been). And as always with love this allowed me to find a new person to give some to. I feel the expression "silver lining" is not enough here, it's more like gold lining lol.

What has changed within me

It is hard to keep track of when what changes happened.
One of the main things I feel is I have gotten significantly more honest with both myself and the people who matter. I have also began to focus more on voting for the right things with my actions, my [[Privacy]] note is a good example of that.

What's to come

Main thing that I can't keep my mind of is not a thing at all but a person. I've met M in July of 2025. She seems to be an incredible person and our so far undefined relationship has been flourishing. I don't mean to make you cringe dear reader, but she is what I thought was too much to ask of this world. She's mature, smart, weird, talented, determined, interesting and of course beautiful inside and out.
She will be visiting me in February this year (2026), I am beyond excited. I still can't believe she likes me and will fly over an ocean just to spend time with this asshole.

Life plan

If you know me at all you know damn well there's no plan XD
But I have some rough idea of one:

I'd like to remain working as a teacher and improve in being one. On that topic I'd like to start writing specific lessons here as notes, probably both in [[Lessons | English]] and [[Lekce | Czech]]. The goal of that is to share them with the public and maybe other teachers in our web of schools.

I'd love to finally learn Java and write some MC and Hytale mods. I would also like to learn a bit of Lua to make Luanti games and teach the kids Lua so they can make Roblox games. And if there's time then learning a bit of Rust was always on my todo list.

While we are on the topic of learning, a bit of French would be nice to know so I could speak the native tongue of M.

I want to focus on building my relationship with M, which includes visiting her home country.

I'd love to finally build my [[CM3588 home server]] and focus on homelabbing and making my apartment (room) smarter.

Online presence

I would like to expand my online presence just a bit:

Finally get a personal website up and running: kynzo.org

Start making videos to post on Odysee, PeerTube and YouTube

Stream a bit more probably on twitch and if I manage to figure out how to on Odysee (maybe on all sorts of platforms)

Post here wayy more
So stay tuned if you care about my content and what I offer! :D

Thank you for surviving 2025 with me, hope you had a lovely year and the next one will be even lovelier.
Have a good one!

Linux my beloved.

Why use Linux

I mean that is the main question that people sometimes ask themselves. Why use something when something else works for me? Why learn some new complicated OS when [[Windows]] has been working just fine for me?
The simplest answer I can give is: That you think something is good does not make it good.
In our case Windows and you using it is causing you a lot of direct and indirect harm that you aren't connecting to your other problems. It is spying on you, stealing your data, and supporting many bad things that are making your life much worse. (In short one of the main concerns is [[Privacy]])

But I don't even like computers!

I hear many people say this. They always tell me that they don't like windows either and that they just don't care and only use a PC because they absolutely have to.
If you think this, fuck you. You are lying to yourself and me. You want to use computers and technology, you wouldn't want to live a week without it, you are just lazy to invest some time and learn the tool that has been making your life so much easier.
And just to prove my point let's assume you aren't lying. Go on then, stop using PC's and tech. Go to the bank every time you need to take out money, or better yet just have all your savings at your home. Go on start a company that does all the paperwork on paper and files everything manually. Stop communicating with people using your phone and instead only talk to them when you see them or via a pigeon. Go in the library and spend 30 minutes there every time you need to google something. No one is forcing you to use anything, there are alternatives, we have been without this technology for as long as we know we exist.

So what makes Windows so bad?

Firstly it is closed sourced and completely controlled by the american company Microsoft.
What that means is that you actually can't know what is happening inside your computer. So it is up to them to decide if they are gonna steal and misuse your data, and let me tell you Microsoft has not shown any kind of motivation to care about it's users. Only thing they showed they care about is profits. Do you really think they would't misuse your data in every possible way with no consequences if they make money of of it?
Besides that there are many other reasons why I think Windows is just plain worse, but those tend to be a bit more subjective and honestly the first reason should just be enough for you to start learning and slowly transitioning into using Linux, if you care about yourself and those around you (especially if you have kids and care about this world's future for them).

Why Linux then? What makes it better then Windows?

Linux is completely [[FOSS]] thus open-source. Meaning that if you don't trust the Linux foundation then you can just go and read what is running on your machine. Of course realistically almost no one does that, but few nerds do and if they found something bad it would be well known and would ruin Linux's reputation (or the specific distribution's reputation).
Honestly as much as I personally like Linux I don't think it's that perfect. But it is the only good alternative out there. The only second one that's kind of well known is BSD, which has even less hardware and software support then Linux does.
Maybe somewhere in the distant future we will have a better alternative but my somewhat educated guess is that won't happen anytime soon.

So how do I Linux?

Well firstly you'll need something to install Linux on. Even tho yes it is possible to install Linux on so many devices, realistically you'll need a x86 cpu to start with. That is the classic cpu in most PC's, rule of the thumb is if you're running Windows it can run Linux.
Now unfortunately not all hardware is compatible with Linux so you might need to give up a fingerprint reader or something similar to use it.
Another pain point is Nvidia, if you have a Nvidia gpu then your Linux journey will be that much more painful. It's really a hit and miss with Nvidia gpu's but if you have a modern one and a good attitude you should be fine (it's good to note that I've heard people of having zero problems with it and also people who didn't manage to get it to work at all, so it is kind of a gamble). With all that said I highly recommend a modern AMD gpu.
Last thing you'll need is a decent usb flash drive and you are good to go!
I am not gonna give you the whole tutorial for how to install Linux as there's thousands if not millions out there at this point.
I'm just gonna give you some recommendations for starters:

Dual-boot, this means to have both windows and linux on the same pc. It is crucial as in the start you might not be able to use your pc effectively enough and you'll end up switching

Don't take too much time choosing a distro. Just pick one, you'll pick the wrong one for you anyways.. Learn Linux with experience and make a good choice after that. If you still aren't sure just use any of the available distro pickers

My personal favorite that I will be talking about the most here is Fedora, it is very much general use, runs good on older and newer hardware, and has many images for many desktop environments. UBlue images that are based on fedora are also very decent if you don't care much for Linux and just want something that works

Why does it even matter?

The problem I encounter the most when debating about privacy is that often people throw in the argument: "I am not doing anything wrong, I don't care if they are spying on me." and I get it, it is a great excuse to not care about yours or anyone else's privacy. Let's debunk this claim :D

It's about the principal of it

My main and the most obvious argument is that it isn't about whether you are a criminal or not, no one should have this kind of information about so many innocent or guilty people. I strongly believe privacy is a human right and should be the default everywhere.

Misuse of data

This data is being used mainly for one thing as of right now: ads.
What is it used for exactly? It is used for "targeted ads", basically if you talk a lot about wanting to buy something in your phones proximity after some time you will start to see a lot of ads for that thing (don't believe me? I urge you to try it, have a chat with your friends about some highly marketed product for a while and then scroll some social media on your phone). So why is this a bad thing? Mostly it isn't really that bad, to me it sounds very dystopian and corrupt so I personally don't like this already but why should you care if you don't share this subjective opinion. Very good question dear reader! And the answer is that you simply can't know what they will use this data for in the future. But okay let's be really stupid and say that you really trust these corporations. Let's say Google for example, well not only is Google selling your data to other companies to make profit but you can't know for certain that someone won't forcibly take that data from them, do you really trust Google to protect your data with everything it takes?

Example of forcible data extraction and use

During WW2 about 70 percent of the Jews living in Netherlands have been murdered. That is more compared to some neighboring countries (Belgium: 40%, France: 25%). One of the believed explanations as to why that happened is because of the population registers. There has been proof that the Germans paid administrative officers and the police for information like addresses and names of Jews.

Another thing that I think is wrong about the data use right now is it's impact on politics. Using this personal data to then show people the ads they want to see to make them vote a certain candidate is so fucked up in my opinion. For example it may show two different ads for the same politician to two different people to make them vote for the same person, even tho they might have completely different political opinions.

So what can we do about it?

Well unfortunately you can't get 100% privacy these days without seriously limiting yourself. For me it comes down to two things: paying with a card and having a SIM card, those are two things I really don't want to live without that just don't have any good private alternatives right now.
Good news is there is so much the average person can do without any or minimal impact on there lives!

No impact/effort

Let's start with what the majority of people is willing to do. This is quite subjective so feel free to find me on some socials and DM me how wrong I am, I love to debate.

Ublock Origin - it is a adblocker that also blocks some trackers and can be heavily customized to block most of them (for the most privacy you need to set settings that will break most sites)

Signal - download the Signal app right now! it is a very simple yet powerful messenger app like Whatsapp. But unlike it it does't steal your data and is insanely private

Don't share info you don't have to share - just don't share too much personal info that you don't necessarily have to share

Some impact/effort but still pretty easy imo

Switch browsers - Iam guessing you are using chrome or something simillar, not only I think it really isn't a good browser it also spies on you. Go for firefox or some firefox base browser (I use Zen). If you really want there are some chromium based ones that i believe to be somewhat good but you are still technically relying on Google (Vivaldi, Ungoogled chromium, Brave, DuckDuckGo browser)

Password manager - We both know that you have the same password in almost antything... I get it why make it complicated for yourself? Well I have the solution for you! Password managers mean you only need one password and it remembers and even creates all the other ones for you. You then have a extension/app that autofills it for you. My favorite is Bitwarden but there are many great selfhosted and cloud password managers so just find the one that suits you.

2 factor auth - I know I know it's annoying but it really isn't that hard and drastically improves your privacy. My recommendation as of now is Ente auth it is free and has cloud sync.

Diversify - It is convenient to have one company handle everything for you, ehrm ehrm Google.. but by doing that you put all your trust in one company and there isn't any company that you should put this much trust into. That is why I don't like Proton much anymore.

Find alternatives - There is really good and often better alternatives to the things that you currently use that are way more private or even opensource. Try to focus on finding either opensource or EU based things (EU has much stricter privacy laws like the gdpr)

Go all in

Once you start getting into it there's no turning back. Don't be afraid of these just because they are labeled as the hardest on this list. I still think that with the right mindset these shouldn't impact a man's life much (women too of course :D)

Linux - I know I know buzz word! I personally like Linux but I don't think it is perfect, far from it in fact. But the thing is if you care about your privacy there just isn't a better alternative right now. It isn't more complicated it is just different.

Custom ROM - reinstalling the stock OS on a phone is quite hard for most people but it isn't impossible depending on your phone. Next time you buy a phone maybe focus on that.

Selfhosting - Cloud is just a fancy word for your data being on someone else's computer. It is't that hard to get into if you just by a NAS with some solid stock OS that handles stuff for you.

Research - Just do basic research about the stuff you use, does it feel too good to be true? It probably is. If it's free you are the product. (Many huge companies make most there money of your data)

How to go about all this

This is all very overwhelming especially if you didn't even do anything from step one (No impact/effort).
My advice and how I am handling this:

I follow two main rules. under no circumstances I don't start using anything "bad" going forward

I slowly systematically get rid of all the "bad" things I use, even after years of focusing more and more on my privacy I still use Gmail for example, I have a plan to get rid of it but I just haven't got to it yet. The intent is what matters here. So if you were to believe in anything i said, then it is okay that you are using many bad things right now, it is not okay to live with the idea that you will be using them forever (windows, google and so on)

WIP: This post was transfered from my old blog/obsidian vault. It is completely readable but it might have some issues. (broken links that look like this: [[something]] for example)

I'll try my best to explain who kynzo is in this post in some more simple shorter sections, that will then link to my hobbies, ideals and so on for longer more in depth paragraphs.

Nickname

So how did I even start calling myself "kynzo" in the first place? My first phone that I've had after my father was the Verzo Kinzo. I needed to name my new email something to buy minecraft on this phone and so we've decided to name it "<del>censored</del>.kinzo" (censored is a short version of my first name). Few years after that I've needed to name my java Minecraft account something and at that point I've decided that Kynzo with an Y just looks better.
In 2023 I've decided to stop capitalizing the K, because... it looks cooler.

Hobbies

As of right now I would split my hobbies into four main categories:

Exercise/health: I really enjoy working out for the last couple of years, I've made some significant progress that I am quite proud of. With that also comes eating somewhat healthy and cooking my own food, which is also intertwined with the next category.

Homesteading/off-grid living: I've always loved the idea of living independently whether that was from my parents, other people or the society. Only recently I've did more research and started realizing that it isn't as impossible/hard as i believed it to be. I hope to own a [[The house|house]] one day with some decent land and take care of all my needs myself.

FOSS/Linux: for a few years now I've fallen in love with the idea of surrounding myself with FOSS software for freedom, privacy and customizability. I've been daily driving [[Fedora]] for some time now, but I've tried Arch, Bazzite, Ubuntu and many others in the past.

Debating/Ideology: This one is the hardest to explain. I really enjoy debating all kinds of things when it comes to the world, from the smallest most insignificant to huge alarming issues of our society. I believe I have some pretty [[kynzo#My view on this world and it's people|interesting views]] on many matters especially for a 19 year old (as of 2025).

Projects/companies I like/support

[[Linux]] - operating system (like Windows or MacOS) that is [[FOSS]] and respects your [[Privacy]].

[[Obsidian]] - simple yet feature rich markdown based note taking app, used to write this very note.

[[Valve/Steam|Valve]] - the company behind [[Valve/Steam|Steam]]. Not quite opensource but I agree with many things they do (not all).

[[Framework]] - primarily a laptop company that makes very repairable and customizable laptops.

[[Fairphone]] - European based phone brand that makes very repairable and ethically sourced phones.

[[Signal]] - a messenger app similar to something like WhatsApp, but actually secure, opensource and trustworthy

My view on this world and it's people

Contrary to a lot of people's that know me believes, I have a quite negative view on everything. Why they think otherwise? Well I certainly don't act like someone with such views, in fact I tend to act like someone with a very positive outlook on everything.
Why is that? Well you know how in some games or software you can sometimes trick the game by subtracting from zero and the number rolls all the way to like 32 million due to how signed integers work on computers?
Well that is kind of what happened with my view on this world, it is so incredibly negative that it made me realize how much things just don't matter and the only thing I can do is either extract myself from society or just live here and try and make this the world I would actually like to live in. Obviously as of right now I am still here.. I've decided to stay for now as I can leave whenever I'd like to, so there's no hurry.
But as nice as that sounds do not be mistaken, I dislike or even hate almost everything in this world and especially people. People are the worst out of all because they are the only ones with the ability to change things for themselves and others yet they either do nothing or usually make everything even worse, while lying to themselves about how they aren't horrible and using the "Hitler excuse" saying their are people who do things soo much worse then them so they aren't so bad.
